Welcome to our BD Affiliated Competition & GBPRE Championship Show Site. Here you will find all you need to know about the show. There’s a lot of information here and to help you, this page will guide you through the important what you need to know before the show type of information.
See the tabs on this page for pre-show information, entering the show etc., and a map of the venue.
The main show menu itself (see link above) contains more detailed information e.g. schedule, timeline, class info, rules & regulations, showing guides etc.
The GBPRE National Championships Show is held at Hartpury Arena at the Hartpury Equestrian College in Gloucestershire, from the 28th – 30th July (Friday, Saturday & Sunday).
A huge, international venue with several indoor and outdoor arenas, stabling for in excess of 150 horses and accommodation on the adjacent campus. It’s an ideal host for our annual show which attracts PRE enthusiasts, breeders, handlers and riders of all levels, from across Europe.
Of course with qualifiers for the ANCCE International Championships, there are some classes that are exclusively for pure-bred PREs, but we also welcome PRE Fusions (part-bred PREs), PREm (Menorquin), and Portuguese Lusitanos, and have a number of classes for each, as well as fun events such as agility and parade. The COPA classes are open to all breeds and are a part qualifier for SICAB.
Competitors are welcome to arrive on the Thursday 27th July from 3pm – 9pm, or on the Friday 28th from 7.30am – 9pm. Horses competing in ANCCE classes must arrive by Friday 9pm at the latest. If you have any queries or are due to arrive outside of these times, please let Stable Manager Freya know in advance, on 07795 416 710.
Please note that those entering the ANCCE classes must arrive by 9pm Friday at the latest, and cannot leave until after the special awards on the Sunday.
On the Saturday evening we host an arena-side Spanish-themed tapas or paella dinner and will be a great opportunity to socialise and watch the performances. Tickets should be booked in advance when entering the show. Please book this, as it is subject to numbers. For more information, take a look at the show schedule and timeline by following the menu links above, as well as the on-line booking tab, where you can enter classes, reserve stabling and accommodation.
The show menu (above) also has all the information you should need in regards to tests, rules and entry requirements.
NB: ANCCE Section 15 for Geldings 4+ is not a qualifying class for SICAB, but will be judged as per the other sections.
Entries normally open on 1 April each year and the closing date for show entries is normally 30 June each year. This is subject to change. Entries received after the closing date are allowed, but will not be included in the show catalogue and are also subject to a late entry fee of £10, so make sure you get your entries in before the closing date!
New for 2023, GBPRE is Cavago to manage our competitive events. We hope the new entry system will prove simple and straightforward for you to use and us to manage! As with all new things, there may be some teething problems to begin with, but we are here to help, so please do contact us if you need to.
