Welcome to our BD Affiliated Competition & GBPRE Championship Show Site. Here you will find all you need to know about the show. There’s a lot of information here and to help you, this page will guide you through the important what you need to know before the show type of information.
See the tabs on this page for pre-show information, entering the show etc., and a map of the venue. Show stats will also appear here once the Show itself is underway!
The main show menu itself (see above) contains more detailed information e.g. schedule, timeline, class info, rules & regulations, showing guides etc.
The GBPRE National Championships Show is held at Hartpury Arena at the Hartpury Equestrian College in Gloucestershire, over 3 days in end July/beginning August (Friday, Saturday & Sunday).
A huge, international venue with several indoor and outdoor arenas, stabling for in excess of 150 horses and accommodation on the adjacent campus. It’s an ideal host for our annual show which attracts PRE enthusiasts, breeders, handlers and riders of all levels, from across Europe.
Of course with qualifiers for the ANCCE International Championships, there are some classes that are exclusively for pure-bred PREs, but we also welcome PRE Fusions (part-bred PREs) and Portuguese Lusitanos, and have a number of classes for each, as well as fun events such as agility and parade. The COPA classes are open to all breeds and are a part qualifier for SICAB.
We welcome competitors that are entering the BD Affiliated Competition to arrive on the Friday from midday, in order to get stabled and settled for the BD classes on the Saturday. Those just entering the main GBPRE Championship Show can arrive from 2pm on the Thursday.
On the Saturday evening we host an arena-side Spanish-themed tapas or paella dinner which will include a meal & wine and will be a great opportunity to socialise and watch the dressage to music and stallion display. Complimentary tickets should be booked in advance when entering the show. Please book this, as it is subject to numbers. For more information, take a look at the show schedule and timeline by following the menu links above, as well as the on-line booking tab, where you can enter classes, reserve stabling and accommodation.
The show menu (above) also has all the information you should need in regards to tests, rules and entry requirements.
NB: ANCCE Section 15 for Geldings 4+ is not a qualifying class for SICAB, but will be judged as per the other sections.
Entries normally open on 1 April each year and the closing date for show entries is normally 30 June each year. Entries received after this date are allowed, but will not be included in the show catalogue and are also subject to a late entry fee of £10, so make sure you get your entries in before the closing date!
