The directors have been thinking very carefully about GBPRE plans this year and what it means for us and the Championship Show. Unfortunately we have taken the decision to cancel it once again. We know this might seem surprising given the Government’s roadmap announcement, but unlike many other shows we use a lot of indoor space at Hartpury and we are concerned that if the expected dates for releasing indoor restrictions get pushed back we would need to cancel the show at very short notice. As a small organisation we can’t afford to do this. Additionally we cannot bring judges over from Spain this year due to travel restrictions.
We are also putting the performance points awards on hold for 2021. The qualifying period for the 2022 awards will start on 1 July 2021 and run to 31 June 2022. The winners will be announced at our 2022 show!
We will also be running a bursary scheme this year. We haven’t confirmed the details of this but at least three riders will receive £500 support during 2021! We will announce the details of this scheme at the beginning of May. It will be open to all GBPRE members.
