Throughout the year, a number of national and international events are held where Purebred Spanish Horses are scored according to their sex, age, conformation and also their functionality.  Organisers submit a request to hold a morphology competition including a * rating.  The * rating is verified by the quality of the venue including facilities and stabling, previous experience by the organising committee and the number of horses expected to attend.  Levels are 1*, 2** and 3***.

GB PRE holds the only ANCCE Morphology competition in the UK and has a 3*** rating.   The higher the rating, the more points horses can achieve at the competition helping its ranking.  There is a National and International ranking table.
